Adversary
Description: Brutal. Powerful. Undaunted. Adversaries are high-risk-high-reward combatants, they dish out as much pain as they receive and revel in taking on monsters over human opponents. They rely on finding the biggest, meanest monster and matching it blow for blow. This often results in many Adversaries facing an early demise but they are ideal to have in a party, much akin to leaving behind a mad dog to save yourself. That said, there ferocity is matched by their will to survive, doling out retribution to those that left them behind.
Starting Gear: Medium Armor (Example; Leather, Chainmail), Melee Weapon
Benefits: Extreme elements do not bother them. Can survive mortal blows. Can remove high tier monsters (though at the cost of their health or life).
Drawbacks: Weak to mental attacks. Susceptible to disease. Can stack injuries quickly. All skills require some sort of sacrifice to their well-being.
Brand Rune Concept: Fire Skills Skill Name: Survival Instinct Skill Level: 1 Description: Adversaries do not die easy. A slight shift of the weight to avoid a killing blow or grabbing the ledge just as they careen off a cliff. They have a daunting will to live that drives them forward and into more harrowing battles. Game Effect: Once every three missions, allows you to survive death at the cost of receiving a permanent injury. Does not apply to Nightmare Missions. Does not apply to “Slayer”.
|
Skill Name: Reckless Challenger Skill Level: 5 Description: The mainstay of an Adversary. An adversary’s drive is to face down challenging foes, singling them out and forcing them to ignore others. Game Effect: Forces all incoming damage onto the Adversary but also removes any Tier 2 or below monsters. Once per mission.
|
Skill Name: Seek and Destroy Skill Level: 10 Description: Removing difficult foes from the battlefield is what Adversaries excel at. Targeting the enemy at the expense of their own well being, they’ll do anything to take down the enemy. Game Effect: Removes two Tier 3 monsters at the cost of 2 permanent injury and loss of 1 Level. Once per mission.
|
Skill Name: Skill Level: 15 Description: Game Effect:
|
Skill Name: Slayer Skill Level: 20 Description: A culmination of savagery and pride. Sacrificing their lives to take on impossible odds. A deep power stirs within them and provides them with power beyond reason. It offers them a glimpse at the cracks of reality before their life ebbs away. Game Effect: Removes a Tier 5 monster or increases positive results on checkpoint of a Nightmare mission (+5 in favor). Character dies as a result.

Apothecary
Description: Doctor. Scholar. Alchemist. Apothecaries dabble in the scientific and the macabre. They have an understanding of how the human body operates and that knowledge is only rivaled by their desire to research all the denizens of Bezimen. Experimentation on the field is just as necessary as the lab, most taking it upon themselves to put together hunts to capture live test subjects.
Starting Gear: Light Gear
Benefits: Strong resistance to disease and poison. Provides healing and increases survivability with various potions.
Drawbacks: Fragile. Weak morality. Skills require research stacks, only received on research missions. Some skills require sacrifices to allies, either permanent injury or death.
Research Stacks: Acquired during Research Missions or Quests. A chart will be added at a later date and there will be a max obtainable during any one mission or quest.
Brand Rune Concept: Water Skills Skill Name: Field Medic Skill Level: 1 Research Stack Cost: 4 Description: Having practical medicinal skills allows the Apothecary to assist after a grueling battle. They know how to stitch and set bone, know which plants will reduce infection. Game Effect: Once per mission. Negates a permanent injury to Health on self or companion.

Freebooter
Description: Scoundrel. Silver-tongued. Unfettered. Freebooters come from backgrounds that coincide with smuggling, sabotage, thievery, and banditry. They are those that look out for themselves and their ilk, and only the latter should it benefit them. Refusing to bow to law and authority, dismissing rules set in place, the Freebooter will allow no one to dictate their fate. Relying on cunning and a quick wit, they do manage to land themselves in trouble more often than not. Yet constantly flirting with danger, they can find riches and rewards in unlikely places.
Starting Gear: Light Gear
Benefits: Nimble and stealthy. Can escape from impossible situations through patsies. Capable of talking way out of dangerous encounters among humans or turning a profit. Known as treasure seekers and opportunists.
Drawbacks: Fragile. Weak to mental attacks. Tends to create enemies among other hunters, through devious or dishonorable actions. Acquiring items through legitimate channels proves more expensive as they attain higher notoriety.
Infamy: Freebooters are known to cause trouble. While they may bring back an impressive haul, it is almost always at the expense of others. As their infamy increases, they gain better rewards though find it difficult to play well with others and can run into complications among merchants. Missions raise Infamy, Quests can help lower it.

Machinist
Description: Engineer. Inventor. Gunslinger. Machinists are what you would call technologically inclined and are a rare commodity. They understand how machinery works through tinkering and creativity. This pursuit of mechanical knowledge has allowed them to better understand weaponry as well as some even being so gifted as to create miraculous prosthetic limbs. Yet such minds are more inquisitive than wise by nature and through eagerness can find their lives cut short due to miscalculations.
Starting Gear: Light Gear
Benefits: Knowledge of mechanisms allow them to spot traps and disarm them quickly. An intimate knowledge of firearms and explosives have allowed them to better use such tools over other hunters. Creating machine-powered prosthetics can help other hunters get back into the fight.
Drawbacks: Weak to mental attacks. On occasion, amplified weaponry can literally blow up in their face. This meaning that if a Machinist is overpowered by a Random Encounter, they can take extra health damage.
Parts: Parts are an extra reward obtained through Missions. They can be used for both Skills as well as assisting other Hunters by providing upgrades and removing permanent injuries by creating prosthetics. A chart will be added at a later date.

Occultist
Description: Willful. Knowledgeable. Insane. Occultist know better than any other what waits in the dark. Or rather they understand that there is no possible way to grasp what could truly be waiting. They take that fear, that darkness, and revel in it. Transforming what could be used against them as a weapon, they pursue knowledge and a way to not only defeat evil but to tame it. Wielding powerful magics can make them lose a grip on reality but it is a price they are willing to pay to attain their goals.
Starting Gear: Light Gear
Benefits: Strong against mental attacks as well as being able to hold onto their sanity more readily than others. They start with 7/7 Sanity. Their understanding of their place in the universe allows them to better acquire knowledge.
Drawbacks: Weak constitutions, susceptible to poison and disease. They start with 4/4 Health. The use of their skills can unnerve even the strongest will. All of their skills will reduce sanity of other Hunters and require sanity to use.

Pugilist
Description: Lionhearted. Tempered. Relentless. From skilled martial artist to heavy-weight boxer, the Pugilist is someone who takes on their opponents with nothing but the weapon they were born with. Their body. Skin as tough as iron and fists that can break stone, Pugilists are almost always in pursuit of a higher challenge. Either to prove to themselves that they are the best or to reach enlightenment through unarmed combat, most swallow their fears to engage threats greater than they could have ever hoped to face.
Starting Gear: N/A
Benefits: They are the only ones who can face evil with nothing but their fists. They are adept at battling human opponents more than monsters, able to take out large groups single-handed.
Drawbacks: Difficult to bring down, sure, but even the mightiest beast can fall to disease. Facing monsters is more unpredictable, leading to a higher chance of permanent injury. This can be overcome with diligent training (leveling).
Training: Pugilists do not know how to take on non-humanoid creatures at first. Learning how to fight such monsters takes time, practice, and perseverance. While able to defeat human opponents quickly, they take increased damage from monsters until they learn how to deal with them. Reaching level 18 and above allows them to start using their skills against monsters.

Ranger
Description: Tracker. Scout. Adventurer. Rangers are born wanderers, finding it difficult to settle in any one location. Despite this they have a strong sense of community, helping others from a distance and answering the call for assistance. They are not limited by their prowess of navigating dense forests as they are just as capable of scouting treacherous catacombs or the maze of streets that Bezimen holds. Either tracking down criminals or warning others of grotesque monsters ahead, the Ranger is a godsend to those that find themselves lost amid enemy territory.
Starting Gear: Medium Gear
Benefits: Perceptive and cautious. Reliable for tracking and navigation. They have access to a companion, either man or animal.
Drawbacks: Susceptible to poisons. Aside from their partner, Rangers are notorious for striking out on their own. Being on their own makes them easier targets for corruption. Losing their partner can have devastating effects.
Partner: Rangers tend to draw in reliable individuals, be it man or beast. As soon as they arrive in Bezimen, Ranger’s will come across someone or something that will form a life-bond with them. This creature or person can use their own skills in tandem with the Ranger, increasing their capabilities but have half the Health of the Ranger. A partner must be created at the Forge and approved. Be warned, losing a partner is permanent and can leave lasting scars on a Ranger.

Scrapper
Description: Adaptive. Survivor. Jack-of-All-Trades. Scrappers are considered true fighters. Mastering the sword or gun, they can quickly adjust to any situation and come out on top. Receiving the short-end of the stick more often than not, some say they are cursed to meet a violent end. Or at the very least, drag others down with them. Expert combatants, intelligent and gifted, Scrappers are the purist definition for mankind’s survival in the wicked streets of Bezimen crowded with unspeakable horrors.
Starting Gear: Any Gear
Benefits: Great stamina and constitution, putting them on par with Adversaries and Templars. Talented in multiple forms of combat and survival. Great amount of skills available to them.
Drawbacks: They spit in the face of death. They find themselves in poorer situations than others on Missions, some would even call them unlucky. Almost like something is out to get them.
Nemesis: Scrappers are hard to kill. Grievous injury (4 damage) or death of your character can be disastrous for other Hunters as well as Briar Glen. It creates a high tier enemy that is more likely to disrupt missions and single out other Hunters. This can quickly lead to a powerful foe that can decimate entire groups of Hunters and remove bonuses earned for Briar Glen.
Proteus: Scrappers can learn skills from other classes and can use skills twice on a Mission. As they level, they can perform Quests with other Hunters to learn their skills when they obtain a new class skill.

Templar
Description: Unshakable. Courageous. Stalwart. The chivalrous Templars are admirable examples of the courage possessed in humanity. Defenders of the weak, their devotion to their faith and the meek is not easily manipulated by those seeking to take advantage of their righteous demeanor. Their arrival in Bezimen has made them shining pillars to follow, restoring hope in an otherwise hopeless scenario. Yet no matter how virtuous a Templar may seem, they have taken up arms to make up for some dark deed or devilish vice they can’t remember but know they must resist...
Starting Gear: Heavy Armor and weaponry
Benefits: Outstanding constitution, starts at 7/7 Health. They pride themselves on sacrifice and conviction, protecting the weak and those near death. They are impervious to permanent injuries and can spend Health to maintain their Sanity.
Drawbacks: Highly susceptible to mental attacks until they complete their Reveries, taking 1 extra damage to Sanity attacks. Most skills require the cost of their Health. If a Templar is killed, other Hunters take a hit to their Sanity.
Vice: Despite their grand stature, Templars are still only human. While many carry a burden that they can’t remember until their Reveries are fully revealed, the Templar is plagued by it as it gnaws on their mental state. At the end of every mission, they take 1 damage to Sanity until they come to terms with their hidden past.
Valor: (Stars at 0/10) Templars draw power in their faith to their god, proving their devotion by defeating evil and saving those in need. Completing missions allow them to increase their Valor. They can spend Valor to perform Errant Quests. Errant Quests are seen as divine providence, gifting the Templar with a scared task. These special Quests are used to gain holy techniques and gear. A chart will be provided at a later date.

Thaumaturge
Description: Arcanist. Healer. Paragon. A Thaumaturge is similar in mind to a Templar though instead of strength of arms, they rely on a direct connection to their faith to perform magical feats and miracles. Lauded as healers and practitioners of elemental arts, a Thaumaturge is greatly sought after when it comes to exploring the dark corners of Bezimen. Whether it is a god or a spirit they believe watches over them, they maintain a strong devotion to an entity they feel is benevolent. However, blind faith has a tendency to go awry.
Starting Gear: Medium Armor and weaponry
Benefits: They are attuned to this odd world they live in and can gain two Authorities instead of one. This also double the techniques they can learn. They must reach level 10 and complete a personal Quest to gain the second Authority. They excel at battling undead and spirits.
Drawbacks: Since they are so open to the world beyond, they are highly susceptible to corruption and possession. It takes them longer to recover Sanity (double requirements). Brand Rune Concept: Spirit Skills Skill Name: Body and Mind Skill Level: 1 Description: Game Effect:
