Table of Contents1. Reverie 2. Tethers and Shackles3. Unlocking Reveries Reverie
Every hunter that find themselves in Bezimen has a few things in common. Mysterious powers, a glowing brand stamped onto their body, and a form of amnesia. Not a single one can remember how they ended up there or what events had taken place in their life. Just a name and something they used to do, even that being a vague memory difficult to put into concept. This hidden past is known as a Reverie. The past has power in Bezimen, it gives a Hunter strength and gives them a sense of identity. Of purpose. A further drive to either escape the city...or decide they’re better off staying. - The only link to your past is tied to negative and positive sensations known as Tethers and Shackles.
- Your Reverie is broken up into 3 parts.
- When you're done Creating Your Character, we ask that you message Mouser to give a summary on your character’s past. Nothing fancy just yet, just a quick summary. As you unlock parts of your Reverie, feel free to add them to your character profile.

Tethers and Shackles
These sensations are all that you can feel that are connected to your past. Sensations such as smell, taste, touch, sound, or sight.
- Tether: 3 Positive memories that bind you to your past and offer you hope. It is usually associated with a positive sensation (smell of fresh bread, a particular painting, the sound of rain on a window). Giving up a Tether will allow you to heal any permanent damage to your Health but will add a negative trait. You must have at least 1 Tether to fully unlock your Reverie.
- Shackle: 3 Negative memories that bind you to your past and keep you grounded. It is usually associated with a negative sensation (smell of blood, taste of burnt food, a splinter). Giving up a Shackle will allow you to heal any permanent damage to your Sanity but will add a negative trait. You must have at least 1 Shackle to fully unlock your Reverie.

Unlocking Reverie
Unlocking a Reverie requires four things; at least 1 Tether and 1 Shackle, the right Level, a required page count, and a set amount of Insight saved up. 1st StageThe first stage usually consists of childhood. Of memories involving loved ones or how the Hunter was raised. Did they struggle through life or were they raised by a caring family? This also gives them a sense of where they come from as well, offering them ties to a country or village. Required Level: 5 Required Insight: 15 Required Minimum Pages: 3
2nd StageThe second stage usually consists of some traumatizing or defining moment in their life. A loved one dying or them accomplishing a task they set out for, like inventing something or attaining a social status. Something that defines their adulthood. Required Level: 10 Required Insight: 30 Required Minimum Pages: 6
3rd StageThe final stage is almost always a result of the events during the 2nd stage. A sudden and possessed motivation to bring back a loved one or to reassert power that was lost. Or perhaps they were on the cusp of death? The results range wildly from person to person but wraps up how they came to find themselves boarding the carriage to Bezimen. Required Level: 15 Required Insight: 50 Required Minimum Pages: 12
Rewards There are rewards for fully completing your Reverie and unlocking your past:
- Increase your Maximum Insight by 20. You can better withstand the horrors and insanity inflicted on you by the creatures and secrets that plague Bezimen.
- Tethers and Shackles are no longer usable. However, you can now increase your maximum Health and Sanity by 1 each and you will able to spend 50 Insight to heal 1 Permanent Damage.
- You will be able to quest for a Legendary Item. Something that ties you to your past.
- You will be able to quest for a Tier V Technique. You know yourself now, attaining better understanding of your Authority.
